Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The Sports Lobby (the "Service"), operated as an individual, unincorporated project (referred to here as "we," "us," or "The Sports Lobby"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or participate in any contest. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that your participation is lawful where you live. Some contests involve entry fees and payouts; it is your responsibility to confirm that skill-based fantasy contests with entry fees are permitted in your state or country before participating. We do not offer contests to residents of jurisdictions where they would be prohibited, and we may restrict access accordingly.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You agree to provide accurate information, including a valid email address, and to keep it up to date.

3. Leagues, Entry Fees, and Payouts

The Service allows commissioners to create fantasy sports leagues, which may include an entry fee collected from participants and a payout distributed at the end of a contest based on rules the commissioner sets. Where entry fees or payouts apply, payments are processed through a third-party payment processor; we do not store your full payment card details. Entry fees are generally non-refundable once a league has started, except as required by law or at our discretion. We are not responsible for a commissioner's failure to set fair rules, distribute payouts correctly, or otherwise administer a league appropriately — commissioners are independent users of the Service, not our employees or agents.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, leagues, or systems; interfere with or disrupt the Service; scrape or harvest data beyond normal use of your own account; or impersonate another person. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Content You Provide

You retain ownership of any content you submit (such as team names or display names), but grant us a license to display it within the Service as necessary to operate it. You agree not to submit content that is offensive, infringing, or unlawful.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Scoring, standings, and payout calculations are provided as a convenience and may occasionally contain errors; we will make reasonable efforts to correct material errors but are not liable for them.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Sports Lobby will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any losses related to entry fees or payouts. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount of fees, if any, you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users (such as by email or a notice on the site). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Service or other users.
